I'm reading a paper regarding a feedback controller, and the authors have redesigned the block diagram such that the feedback controller is positioned in series before the plant, with a unity feedback loop wrapped around both. They have called it the 'equivalent regulator' version of the controller. I can't find any information about what an equiv. regulator actually is or how it is derived.
